If you want to send emails direct to Email2DB's built-in mail server from outside (IE from the Internet), you need to do a number of things.
1. Assign a public IP address to the Email2DB PC - IE a static internet IP. 2. Register a DNS name to this IP (eg. myemail2bserver.com). 3. Assign an MX record to this IP (eg. mail.myemail2dbserver.com). 4. In the Email2DB main settings - Mail Server tab. Enter 'mail.myemail2dbserver.com' as the host name. 5. In the Email2DB Account settings - SMTP Receive tab enter 'myemail2dbserver.com' in the 'Accept Mail For Domain' setting. 6. Ensure port 25 is open on your router/firewall. Now - you can send email to someone@myemail2dbserver.com from anywhere in the world. If you only want to send email to Email2DB internally (IE from your local network PC's) you just send mail to 'someone@{email2dbpc}' where {email2dbpc} is the PC name or IP address of the Email2DB PC. In the Accept Mail For Domain setting enter the PC name or IP address. |

Hi Daniel,
Do you have an updated instruction for this? We're using Email2DB Enterprise Version 2.1 Service Pack 1.511. Thank you.

Hi hphi_IT,
All should be the same, other than the Email2DB Main Settings would be the top left circle button -> Mail Server Options.
For Email2DB Version 3 go to File -> Mail Server Options. |
