Hi, I am using WhosOn trial edition and willing to buy WhosOn professional edition but I noticed that WhosOn chat window does not “508 Compliance” and doesn’t readable by disable persons using JAWS, that is my basic requirement. For this I need to change the HTML layout of WhosOn chat window and needs to add tooltips and custom text. I have talked to WhosOn representative and he told me in order to do that change we need to buy WhosOn white label edition and that is too costly my company can’t afford it. I just need to customize WhosOn client chat window please let me know how it is possible? The second requirement is: what if I want to display my own customer email address in a label not in the textbox by default instead of asking the user to input email address to Leave a message if operator is not online. I have checked help: http://www.whoson.com/help/content/Pre-Assigning_The_Visitor_Name.htm It has the option to pass our own user name in client chat window, is it possible to pass our client email address in case of no operator online and pre-populate the text box or display it in the label? e.g. http://myserver.com/chat/chatleavemessage.aspx?domain=MyDomain&Email=adeel.ahmed@softech.us Adi |

I don't know what WhosOn White Label Edition is but I think the developer kit http://whoson.com/installabledevkit.aspx is still an option that you can purchase (it is reasonably priced). Using that you can modify the visitor side of html and application code any way you want. (I think you would need basic knowledge of VB.NET if you want to go this route).
We have modified this to add a couple of custom things ourselves. Only downside is that you might have to make the same changes again and again with each major release. In our case they risk was worth taking for the changes we wanted to make ourselves.
Thanks

Hi,
For all editions of the WhosOn Installable - you can modify any of the Themes that come with the chat app.
These are contain in C:\Program Files\WhosOnV5\Chat\Themes\
Each theme has a stylesheet. You can customize the stylesheet in any way you want to completely change the appearance of the chat window. You can also create your own theme if required.
Many Thanks
Steve

I know I'm dragging this thread out of the dirt, but how do I ADD a new theme that I've made? I added the folder and everything to the App_Themes, but the Client doesn't seem to see it.

Me too! How do I add a new theme folder so that it is a visible choice in the admin?

You simply type in the name of the theme. It won't add to the drop-down menu, but it is what is called a 'combo box' which means that you have the drop-down options, OR you can type in your own value.
Just make sure you match the case of the folder in there (i.e. - if your theme folder is called 'Awesome' make sure you type 'Awesome' in the drop down, capital A and everything.)
