We have been using Whoson installable for a few weeks now and have been very impressed. However our entire office uses macs and we have been very unhappy with the "mac support" that Whoson offers. The java mac client runs very well but is severely limited feature wise. The Silverlight client has a few more features but crashes constantly. I see that you guys have developed an iPhone application which means you must have some developers familiar with building apps for the mac and we would love to see a real native mac application built. I know being in software development myself that you will work on projects that will benefit the majority of your client base first but in the meantime it might not hurt to make footnote that the mac clients available lack the ability to use many of the advertised features.

Right now we are about 90% satisfied with Whoson if we see a full featured mac client we will be 150% satisfied.

Hi jarodk

Which web browser do you use for the Silverlight on Mac?  We run using Safari and we don't see much in the way of issues - Firefox Mac seems to be less reliable.

Do you just get a lockup on the error, or is there an error message?  Have you reported this to the support desk?

We may develop a native mac based client, however we would prefer to work with the Silverlight version if it is possible to improve it - this is mainly because it covers more bases for us in terms of platforms, which makes it better for development - the more different client platforms we need to support, the less features in the end for all platforms, partially due to planning for what can and will go in, and partially due to time.

We can put in more error reporting and logging, if you do get continuous crashes.

We are also expecting that the Silverlight 4 may help with this, and we have some updated controls from Telerik which may be able to help if it is a control crash issue (where the screen or browser greys out may be something like this).

Thansk for the feedback - - we will keep it all in mind as we plan our next stages of development.

I'm all for a Cocoa Mac app - would be great but can understand why they don't have one. However there is a gap in the market as there is no decent Live chat / stat software for Mac.

However the V4 Silverlight update and the update to the WhosOn Silverlight client might have Growl support (hopefully dock badges for number of visitors?) so it's a step in the right direction. Just need MS to sort out saving window positions :)
Cheers,

Adam
