Hi all -
This is my first post and I hope you guys and gals can help. I'm curious how to integrate Google Analytics for Goals with the WhosOn 2011 (version: 11.2.502) Installable product. I understand that the built-in analytics is robust, but Google Analytics integration is integral to Goals attribution for Live Chat for me. Any help would be greatly helpful - fining relevant info concerning this has been challenging thus far. Thank you forum friends. |

Hello,
it is a good question. A detailed funnel/ conversion analysis is important to see what are the results of invites send to prospects, accepted invites chats versus not invited prospects and so on. |

Hi Birdy,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, this will be very powerful when set-up properly. I've made some headway in how to integrate Google Analytics with the WhosOn service, but still working on a few issues.

It depends on where you wish the goal to be set. The best manner is to place the Google code into the Opening Message of the chat window. This can be done within the Site Properties area of the WhosOn Client. Once in here you can track the goal of who entered the Chat Start page, though not whether they entered a chat session. Chat session tracking would require further customisation using the WhosOn Developers Kit that is available with the Enterprise Edition, as there is currently no support for adding in HTML to the chat window once a session has started.
Other developments that I have seen occur involve the tracking code. This can be viewed by following the Include.js file and within here is where the Online and Offline image's JavaScript code is stored. This could be customised and the reference altered to a static location, if you did not wish to use the code provided by the WhosOn gateway. Edited by James Horton - 16 Jul 2012 at 4:46pm |
