Hi,

In the server we have Smart Host set up to use our public email address. Forwarding email is working and it is sending email as our public email.

A) Wanted to do
When we receive email from third party to our exchange email, We would like to send/move email from exchange email to our gmail and process the email from gmail.

Would we be able to use email2db to send email as sender to our gmail?

B) Done following

Created Trigger action Send An Email as
From: %msg_from%
To: Our Gmail account.
Subject: %msg_subject%

And Add incoming attachment is selected.

C)
Even though trigger is successful didn't receive any email.
Letter checked outbox inside email2db database saw this MailFrom and MailTo is email2dbserver@sender's domain and subject is Undeliverable:**** subject.

in the Mime saw ...
<CRLF>.<CRLF>
550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

Similar error happening as following discussion.

Best Regards,
Damodar

Hi Damodar,

"550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender"

That tells me the smarthost rejected the SMTP connection with the reason in the log. You should review that the 'from' email addresses in your emails are allowed to go through that smarthost, review SPF strings in TXT records, and also ensure the IP of the Email2DB computer is allowed to send email through that smarthost.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply.

I have one more question,
Planning to send/forward email from gmail we have smart host set up to use our hosting provider's email.

When setting up smart for gmail with the details below
SMTP server name... : smtp.gmail.com
Security: ssl implicit
smtp port 465
and username password.
When trying send test email it's giving failed to connect error and following message.

What should be the solution for this?

Best Regards,
Damodar

Before Google allow you to smarthost through them they expect you to follow Google's authentication procedure. Typically, you have to use a web browser to login to the Google account first before you can configure any external program to smarthost through it.

Info from Google on how to setup smarthosting

Keep in mind that Google G-Suite also affects mailflow that goes through it via smarthosts, they will throttle and block your IP if they detect too many emails coming from the same IP over a period of time. This will be for their own reliability of service and security reasons.

G-Suite Email Sending limits

G-Suite Bandwidth limits

I would suggest you look into a dedicated smarthosting provider.

Hello Jim,

Would you be able to explain little bit more! why do we need to follow Google's authentication procedure?

We are already using few of our gmail account to send emails via other applications.

Best Regards,

"why do we need to follow Google's authentication procedure?"

Because you're using a Google smarthost...
