Program has stopped working with error SQL primary group full. While looking at the database file, it has crossed the 10GB limit of SQL express 2012 database file.

Are there any step by step instructions on how to clear old transactions from thinkautomation to reduce the size of the database?

Thanks
Ganesh.

There is a two step approach to resolve and ensure regular database maintenance once you have reached this point. The first is to remove unwanted emails from the MessageStore table within the ThinkAutomation database. To do this you will need to open SQL Management Studio and create a new query that looks similar to this, obviously you will need to change the date and time to reflect what you are willing to delete from the database.

DELETE FROM dbo.MessageStore WHERE MessageDate <= '2018-03-18 00:00:00.000'

This query will delete all records from the MessageStore table older than 2018-03-18.

Once you have done a the bulk clear up using the SQL query you can then configure ThinkAutomation to run daily maintenance on the database to delete any data which exceeds your retention requirements. This is done under the Account Settings using the Delete Messages From The Message Store After option.
